Kevin Hutcheson makes collage based work using text and imagery taken from a range of printed sources. For his solo exhibition at Patricia Fleming Projects Hutcheson presented a collection of new works which suggest evocative narratives created from fragments of newspaper headlines.
Born in Glasgow in 1971, Hutcheson studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee and Chelsea College of Art & Design, London. He has exhibited widely, solo exhibitions include Collective Gallery Edinburgh 2003, Alexandre Pollazzon London 2007, Jacky Strenz Gallery Frankfurt 2008 and Glasgow Project Room 2010. Group exhibitions include The Fruitmarket Gallery Edinburgh 2002, Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow 2004, Norwich Gallery Norwich 2006, Tate Modern London 2007, DCA Dundee 2009, and Walker Art Gallery Liverpool 2012. He lives and works in Glasgow.
